Why do kpop fans glorify global streams but dismiss Korean streams?

    If there are kpop fans that glorify global streams while at the same time diss Korean streams, then it's obvious that their biases are failing or underperforming on the Korean charts.

    If their own biases would be doing well on the Korean charts, it's obvious they wouldn't dismiss that but would glorify those too.


    So, about those that glorify global streams while dissing Korean streams, it's likely that most of them are JYP gg stans and stans of certain bgs.

    International streams matter more because they pay more per stream than korean streams.

    i see the opposite reactions tho. They made threads after threads about some jumps on melon charts for boasting rights but no one paid interest in their global spotify numbers except fans lol

    Fans with fave thriving on korean streams will say this is the most important metric and fans with faves thriving on global streams will say this is the most important metric.


    It’s a matter of perspective

    Because Melon, Genie, etc streams are not relevant at all. Reason? Gaon. They literally heavily scrutinize and filter fandom manipulated fake streams out.

    No one cares about Melon, Genie, Bugs, etc streams and instead favor groups getting the 100m Gaon confirmation so then we know the streams are trustworthy.


    Look at that BG song that was the most streamed son in Melon history for a while, still to this day hasn't been confirmed by Gaon. That song has nearly 1bn streams in Korea across all platforms yet in 5 years hasn't managed to be certified for just 100 million legit streams? Hmmm, do you suddenly trust Melon and Genies numbers still?
