Not particularly. I'm into kpop because of the performances and concepts more than anything else. I love the dancing, the (oftentimes crazy and outlandish) costumes, the music videos...
That said, idols should manage to get through a live performance or encore without sounding like a herd of dying goats. I just don't expext them to be these incredible, outstanding vocalists on par with Mariah Carey or Freddie Mercury.

Absolutely yes. My fave groups, I must say, have all been good vocal groups. Mmm and majority of SM groups boast good vocals. I enjoyed songs that are layered with seasoned vocal works regardless if they're popular songs or not. I absolutely abhor bad vocals tbh. There is this one girl group I can never get into for all these years because their voices sound like struggling ducks to me even in studio version. Don't get me wrong, I respect that people think they're lovely and are charming and that's one of the biggest factor why they're popular. But I don't listen to their charm when I put my headphone in my ears, I listen to their voices and to how their vocals sound like. They just never hit the mark for me where I personally think it matters the most for singers. They're just, in my honest opinion, vocally bad. Vocals matter the most to me.

Yes, they're singers after all. Their singing has to be at least enjoyable. But I do enjoy flexing vocals.
