Because before, that was the exact opposite when top groups wouldn't go to certain award shows because they weren't going home with the grand prize. This is really unheard of to me since my almost 15 years into kpop. Idk, BTS is just built differently I guess. And last year was also another full award season where they also didn't go even though they won grand prizes. This whole situation is just funny to me.

GAON awards are based completely on sales so regardless of whether an act attends or not that won't change which awards they win.
