Not saying any of these professions are irrelevant just some have their time to shine brighter than the others. Celebrity culture has always existed but the medium has changed.
Like back in 19th century actors/actresses did exist but prominent celebrities were mostly writers, inventors and politicians.....in the 20th century the medium changed to film and hollywoods golden age rolled around with their movie stars. We saw supermodels and pop stars become popular celebrities in the end of the century.
In the 2000's we see a lot of reality TV and social media. Daresay Charlie dmelio has the same amount of influence/following as disney/Nick's latest pop girl Olivia. Kylie Jenner's net worth and influence rivals main pop girls like Ariana and Dua Lipa by a lot especially outside pop circles. Rn its unclear but in the future what kind of celebrity do you think will dominate the 21rst century?
