Every big fandom does this

Welcome to Kpop.

Yes they do. When compared to other big groups, theirs is much obvious as the songs aren’t charting anywhere too
-
That’s how kpop works, you think groups like Twice, BTS, BP etc sell tons of albums because everyone wants an outdated music format? The lottery nature of photo cards means people buy multiples just get the card they want. Nct was the only exposed, I’m certain every other popular group has the same type of fans bulk buying

Of course, but unlike nct, these 3 groups do have decent amount of Spotify listens, especially BTS.

Okay that's what all kpop groups do. The whole charting thing is from an incorrect notion that only fans are streaming their songs. For bts, twice, and bp they have the GP support in SK so they can chart on korean charts. People say the reason bts are so good digitally is because of their huge fanbase which is one reason. But the bigger reason is because they have a lot of exposure being from bts so the gp will check them out fast and help with charting. Nct doesn't yet have the name brand recognition that these three groups have and don't have a super viral hit so they haven't charted yet. Besides, I think overall nct's music was never meant for the gp or charting but was more for a fanbase. I've heard people say it before and I agree that you either love or hate nct, no in between. So most people who like their music are fans. This creates a loyal fanbase but they won't click with the gp. Hence their high album sales and low digitals.
