The variants of Covid are being named after the letters of the greek alphabet. You only hear about the ones that are getting virulent and becoming an issue.
For example, the Omicron variant. Omicron is the 15th letter of the greek alphabet. So just because we only hear about the Delta and Omicron variants, doesn't mean there aren't more.
