Seventeen "Attacca" Album Review

  • Well I love both album and don’t see attacca as downgrade compared to your choice. Each shows different phase of love and they well put those themes. And only title track has far different but I don’t see much difference in overall. Only thing for me is Hiphop unit needs to work more on finding their own styles. Their songs are appealing enough to me. For both albums.

Anyways, you are not alone lmaooo

tbh I hope I Can't Run Away (+Wonwoo & Mingyu's Bittersweet collab this year) is HHU finding their sound and the kind of music truest to them. All of the members (except Vernon I believe) are ballad lovers and mostly listen to that style of music and other vocal-based songs. And while I'm not sure about the others, Seungcheol was originally set on being a vocalist. I think if they were to do a majority votes on the unit, they would end up doing ballads a la I Can't Run Away from now on

Oh I agree with you on that. Hope them trying soft style in this album gives them more clear picture for future as a unit. I also feel like they are under pressure (just imo) to show their own style compared to other units so that focusing more on hard/hiphop-ish stuff in the past? And Bittersweet just hits different after all :pepe-sad:

Need more songs like it from them now on!

Agreed, I think unfortunately labeling the units as vocal/hiphop/performance left HHU in this weird spot. The other 2 units actually perfectly fit what they were labeled as while HHU doesn't naturally fit what most people would expect when they hear "hiphop unit" (though hiphop is a very diverse genre and kpop really limits it to one style/concept when theres so much to it). It's definitely resulted in a struggle finding the right identity for the unit and resulted in a lot of songs that just seem strange for them to me (Ah Yeah, Un Haeng, Lotto, No Flex Zone, etc.)

They've shined the best in songs like If I, Lean on Me, Can't See The End and I Can't Run Away imo. Also feel like Whats Good/GAM3 BO1/Monday to Saturday AKA upbeat fun songs fit them pretty well
