Well... I'm someone who writes short stories and I have been a storyteller since childhood. (my after school teachers used to say I had a "good imagination", because I used to sometimes tell fictional stories to the other children there.)
And one of my short stories has also even gotten published.
Some of you probably know that I also write fanfics.
And I'm having this thought about turning one of my fanfics into an original story.
Even though I might change some stuff.
It won't be like: "I'll change the names of all the characters, and that's it."
But when I think of people writing original stories based on fanfics, I can only think of the bad examples like "After" by Anna Todd, which was based on a Harry Styles fanfic. (I haven't read that book, but I know there are many people who don't like this book.)
But I guess it can be done right.
