Aespa have what Itzy failed to have :

  • Itzy doesn’t even have one “IT girl” i hate this title but by that I mean one member that is the talk of the country

Yeji hasn’t topped brand rep since July 2020 and only did once, nowadays Yuna is more popular but she’s not incredibly popular either, Korea doesn’t care about Ryujin that much although her international fame is so big

meanwhile Aespa’s least popular member in Korea Ningning ranked #6 on brand rep. That’s something Itzy‘s most popular fails to achieve anymore

Winter is really popular with kr men, Karina has a huge amount of fangirls, but even Ningning and Giselle seem pretty popular in Korea. Ningning seems to be big among fangirls as well.

Imo Yeji Ryujin Yuna have serious potential but for some reason they’re just not hitting big.. whereas Winter and Karina have already and even NN and GS are doing well

  • I saw a video some time ago about why it went wrong for itzy and the main point made was that people found them and their sound to similar to blackpink especially before not shy era. We already have bp so a younger bp with 1 additional member would not great in the long run. Jyp is known to follow the latest trend twice influenced by girls gen and itzy by bp

  • Honestly eh I'd disagree that's not how it works.

Brand Reputation is based off subjective criteria. Someone like Ningning who has less articles written about her, would mean that she'd automatically rank a LOT lower than her members, but it's not really a criterion of fanbase.

I'd say Giselle/Ningning aren't far off from each other but their fixed fanbase is probably lower than Yeji, Ryujin, Yuna in Korea. This was also Giselle's era, she's had a great reception from knetz compared to before this.

ITZY will do fine once they branch out of their perspective "ITZY" branding. There's a lot involved to having a huge fanbase, visuals + luck + styling + company promotion mean a lot. Plenty of groups didnt have a it girl off the bat. Some grew popular later. You don't even always have to rank #1.

  • In my opinion, Aespa doesn't have the IT firm although Ningning is quite attractive.

as a nonfqn, I find Itzy 's music noise. Never liked even one song of theirs.

but, I do find Itzy members a lot prettier than Aespa's.

  • Itzy got everything except a good marketing team.

  • Aespa individual charms shine better than Itzy members imo

Aespa members each have their own respective role, their own charms that it's easy to notice even if you don't stan them

  • They showed everything they had at debut. Nothing's left. Pushing ryujin and yuna will be a good move but it comes with the risk that they may get bigger than the group.

Funny how for me the only thing they have in common is that they're both girl crush, in my eyes they couldn't be more different

  • aespa has better vocalists

    Itzy has better performers

    Both have noise songs

Both have pretty girls (Itzy edge aespa by a bit)

Hope there’s more new GGs for 4th gen because so far none really stood out like Blackpink or Twice for 3rd gen.

  • also comparing BR rankings is BS when you know they can be manipulated

  • I swear I am a MY not Midzy but these comparisons and “what Itzy did wrong” are pointless. Itzy are doing great. They’re thriving and successful. I would get the need of these analyses if Itzy flopped and got disbanded because of it. Aespa is the new hot thing right now but I won’t count on it to stay like this for years. Suddenly these analysts would turn on aespa if they get slightly overshadowed by newer groups in popularity lists. It’s pointless.

  • No. Aespa got the better songs, at least two of them. If Itzy got Next Level or Savage it would probably have been their DDDD moment because they have everything going for them but the songs.

Wannabe, loco, dalla dalla even not shy are more international friendly than any of those songs . Itzy will never have a dddd moment. Give it up.
