Weibo is the only social media service of that type in china. so if you are in china and want a social media, that's it. period. done.

so its safe to say at least a majority of the chinese population has weibo lol

There are other types of social media (tiktok is douyin in china and weibo is kinda like what'sapp) but no other twitter/facebook style social media other than weibo.
