I at first thought aespa can reach itzy album sales and can’t surpass dalla dalla too but i’m to shock how well the girls doing. 2 huge hits back to back, might end up become best selling 2021 idols song in overall. And their album sales, i expect them to sold atleast 150k the least but dang we just read today that their album pre order up to 490k? No. You can look at literally every metric and Aespa has already surpassed Itzy.

People like to talk about Itzy being bigger internationally... yet Aespa have 3-6x the youtube views and likes for stages on the same day. Someone above just posted JP stats in Aespa's favour with a mini album vs full album as another example.

Itzy are nearly a three year old group and a known quantity. They need a viral hit or some change up to blow up any bigger. They are successful and popular, but sit just under that top echelon of groups (BP, Aespa, Twice, RV maybe OMG and MMM).

It's unlikely that they are going to demonstrate some sudden growth in the areas that are arguably holding them back from being a top group. IMO, the things which are holding them back are; their vocals, their repetitive concept/style of music and a large gap of public appreciation between their 3 most popular members and the 2 least popular members. They probably also need to silence the rumours around Lia as well. I can see any one of Yuna, Ryujin and Yeji hitting it big ala Suzy/Hyuna/Mijoo/Chuu (in comparison to their groups).

Aespa on the other hand have released two of the biggest GG hits this year, and are still in their rookie year. Barring any scandals, they will only get bigger over the next year.

I don't think so, aespa's competition now are other big 4 groups that haven't debuted yet and might overshadow them once they debut just like how they did to itzy. But they are pretty safe for now though, with two hits in SK and massive amount of sales and achievements in such a short amount of time. Their fandom seem to be extremely loyal too so I doubt they will swing once a new hot gg debuts.

Right now Itzy’s competition is Stayc and Gidle especially Stayc since they’re growing rapidly fast. Aespa is too far gone for them to catch up, they’ve had 2 comebacks around similar timing and both times Itzy have massively underperformed and now Aespa has passed them in streams and albums. I don’t seen Jype new group challenging Aespa I think they’ll most likely pull a MissA thing. I do see Yg girl group being Aespa’s competition just like 2nd gen.

unless itzy sells 513k with next album and gets 2 hit songs, I doubt it sad itzy got the Gfriend treatment.

Itzy is done given JYPNGG is debuting next year. Maybe JYPNGG can surpass aespa. Also some people overrate Itzy's international popularity. Their peaks are not at all far apart but itzy does have wannabe so only a slight edge. The difference is no where as big as its between itzy and aespa in Korea. Aespa's one song next level has more weeks in top ten on every chart in Korea than Itzy's whole career.
