it's because they don't cast normal talented actors
they just usually cast whichever foreigner is available and can speak both Korean and English lol
They didnt look or sound like they spoke any korean

Yeah, or they can get a decent western actor and just dub over them with a good Korean voice actor.

In their defense not many westerners know Korean. Also, Kdramas have a long history of being cringe. Some of the older really popular Korean dramas are really cringe in general and I don't mean like 1990s I mean like just a few years ago haha.

I get it for typical Kdramas where they just need to find a white guy, but the dudes in Squid Game were so jarring. It's Netflix, it's a big production, the showrunners obviously know what they're doing.
Get a decent English writer for that dialogue instead of just having old dudes yell "69!! 96!! LOL"
