Inspired by this this thread: Kpop has yet to close the gap that BTS have created. Why is that?

I'm always reminded that BTS is held to an alternative standard from the rest of their peers but the hypocrisy here in the last year or so is too much. It's just really annoying af seeing acts do 5 or more versions and/ plus merch bundles and no one is holding them to the BTS standard that only BTS can hold, but years prior (before BTS rightfully made them shut the fuck up with one $50 version of an album) all we would get from western and kpop journalists/stans were how they were cooking(inflating) up sales. Just them. Why do you think BTS was treated this way and not their western/kpop peers, AKP ARMY?
