    In the past year there’s been a growing trend of communities setting up autonomous areas that blocked cops from entering. Communities have many reasons to not desire police presence, as we all know there have been cases of people killed by cops, including children. Do communities reserve the right to take care of things on their own or should cops always be involved in potential crime?

    I just gotta say that lots of communities have lost their trust in the police. They have to earn it back.


    That being said, the police should try hard to negotiate tbh. They didn't before and now its biting them.


    I'm glad the police in my area are rather nice, understanding, and helpful. I remember that one of my classmates was able to flag one down for a ride home to escape a creepy boy, and I was able to ask one for directions.

    There might be that one dick cop that tries to be mean and all that but that's just it -- him being grumpy.


    from what I've seen of other cops on the news, well I'm grateful to be in my community and consider myself lucky to have such a great PD backing us up.

    it's a hard situation, but i believe police reform is the way, not totally doing away with the police in general, because there has to be someone to call when there's a murder/assault/fire/robbery, etc, it's just the way current police respond is not good

    Of course, the government in the US is supposed to be run by the people so if the people don't want police then that is what you make of it

    But at the same time, police keep the place going. Imagine the mess if they were no longer active. I'm glad I don't live in the USA, what a mess it is right now.

    There has to be a balance between people's opinion and logic, which is why there are so many problems.
