from what I recall a beret wouldn't have a brim or bill. I believe they're also usually made of wool. I believe what makes Yeji's hat not qualify as a beret is the bill.

Yeah, I'm also no expert lol, but I like idols wearing cute hats so I thought I should try to learn the names.

Anything with a bill at the front is a cap (like a baseball cap). You could get away with calling that a cap or a flat cap, but I looked at pictures of different types of flat cap and settled on a fiddler cap being the closest (although its really unique in its design).
