How? Songs like Who, Like Jennie and Chk Chk Boom very much make sense and are even expected.
The confusing part is what makes something kpop vs pop with APT vs. other English BP solos
Anything not Whiplash and maybe Chk Chk Boom has no business being nominated.
For example Born Again. As much as the song is my absolute fav out all the BP solo releases, its nowhere near "kpop." Hell, even genius doesn't consider it one.

I can’t think of big kpop hits in the past year
(probably only Magnetic) most high peaked songs faded very quickly in metrics and hype

They only consider kpop acts releases which are mega popular like APT to be in non kpop categories. APT is already pop nominee, that's why TTTE is for kpop nominee.
