Why did BTS even get nominated over Western Artists and not my kpop faves?
- High AF social media especially twitter fan engagement.
- First Korean artist to even get a twitter emoji
- They beat out Western Artists on the BB Social 50 Chart. Your kpop faves werent even found on this chart at the time.
- Their latest album charted in the BB 200 Album Chart, so it's not like they werent already on the charts that mattered.
- They charted on the YEAR END BB World Albums Chart

BTS became the first kpop artist to WIN an award at the BBMAs
Why were they even able to win?
- High AF fan votes
- BTS attended the ceremony and beat Justin Beiber's 6 year streak. That was buzz worthy.
Did BTS even have fans in the US at the time ?
- BTS was mobbed at LAX
- BTS had the loudest screams at the award show.
- BTS had tons of reaction videos that went viral on social media. Nobody who aint a fan is filming an artist watching another artist for the majority of the show. BFFR.
- Even the artists there were wondering WTF was going on and took photos with them because of the BUZZ.
It must've been HYBE's fraudulence right?
- HYBE didnt even exist.
IDK it's almost like their FANDOM is the one to thank for that award.
Now you want to know what else didn't exist?
- BTS had not YET officially debuted in the US. And what I mean by that was them randomly picking up an award that they were NOMINATED for wasn't PLANNED.
- BTS had not yet signed with a Western Label for their ALBUM DISTRIBUTION
So when did BTS OFFICIALLY DEBUT in the US and even started actively promoting in the US?
Hold on I'm getting to that.
Well they needed to first release MUSIC.

Fun fact, almost a decade later without BTS,
only 8 kpop acts have managed to chart higher
and I'm counting solo acts too, even your favourite animated kpop groups.
And BTS did THAT.
Oh wait, it must have been due to HYBE fraudulence right ?
Because BTS rise to dominating charts in the US just cant be organic compared to your green faves.
- Well, baby, Hybe didn't exiiiiiist.

It just can't be due to the BUZZ
from just winning the BBMAs
and the massive amounts of people who became FANS from that event in their career.
Now for their official debut on US TV.
November 19, 2017 - FIRST US TV DEBUT AT AMA
BTS managed to snag a performance at the AMA and that made history. That was when SUGA said, he knew, things would be different for them. And the man was right!
But when did they start doing the talk show "promo" that kpop stans claim gave bts the upper hand 
Well they did that AFTER their debut at the AMAs, AFTER their win at the BBMAs and AFTER DEBUTING ON THE BB HOT 100, BB200 AND BB WORLD YEAR END CHARTS...
Wait, I have more achievements for you but my thread is already long AF.
Long story short, ARMY gets most of the credit for BTS' success in the US.
Like all other kpop groups they were doing little tours and mini interviews and KCON LA.
But unlike other kpop groups they were showing up and staying on charts that led them to be nominated and the rest is history.
