What do you think about street interview videos?

  • I have heard that there are people who don't like these types of videos.

    I don't quite know why.

And well... it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of those people, who want to date a Korean, watch these videos that are like "Would Koreans date foreigners?".

Then perhaps some of those being interviewed are like "Yeah, I wouldn't mind."

And the people watching are like "Thank goodness, I have a chance." or perhaps "Then Jungkook will want to date me."

I guess one problem with street interviews is perhaps that some of those people being interviewed try to show the good sides of themselves. (I feel like I would do the same thing to be honest)

And well... I once watched a street interview video, where they were interviewing Japanese people about a controversial Miss Japan winner. And one of the comments to that video was saying: "I am Japanese. Many Japanese people do not assert themselves and take a public stance. Many people do not make critical comments in public. That's not the person's true feelings. These are both strengths and weaknesses of the Japanese people. In the video, some of these people may not have expressed their true feelings."

  • Internationally the Interviews are culturally interesting. Only knowing a stereotype the interview debunks it. It makes sense as the stereotype was exaggerated.

Example street interview. Reveals Japanese women find Japanese men most attractive. Debunks the stereotype that has foreigners being the sought after ones.

Local street interviews are more disheartening. Discovering some folks are, how can I put this? Nuts! XD
