Le Sserafim number 1 on Oricon chart

  • They seem to be ahead of other groups when it comes to Japan. Happy for them

Biggest Japanese album debuts is a surprise! Despite their figures going down elsewhere in other charts in SKorea and Japan, they've done pretty well here. To be able to be near equal to their previous cb is quite a feat for them these days.

I think all this tells me is how too many companies ignore this market. I understand it's a hard market to get into but once you're in you're in. Look at Twice for example they're able to maintain loyal fans that are there for them every comeback. Meanwhile, in other markets they're labeling them as flops but Japan never really turned their back on them. You can say the same for Le Sserafim where numbers declined in other regions but not that big of a drop off in this market.

I assume Hybe will smartly focus on this market for Illit. I feel more companies should focus on that rather than chase the NA/EUR market that is fickle.

I don't think any company ignores the japanese market. At least not the major ones.
