BABYMONSTER’s Ahyeon speaking fluent Chinese at the age of 12 for her audition at YG

  • She’s so cute! But did anyone else think she was raised in the west :!:

She has a similar vibe to Jennie, Giselle (I know was raised in Japan!), Yunjin etc

  • Also her English was fluent like she was raised in America as a Korean-American.

Oh, and I just discovered a video of her saying she watched animated films and basically mimicked what the characters were saying.

In that same video, she said she learned English at the age of 5 and Chinese at the age of 7.

At that age, and younger, she was a sponge learning Chinese so it's no surprise.

But, it's still a surprise to us fans.

I tend to forget KPOP artists do learn other languages beyond their own.

  • I read somewhere her Mom teaches Chinese languages too! She must be very smart :!:

  • yea she has been speaking English and Chinese from a young age and even some Japanese now. Also I do think superficially she may give Jennie vibes but if you followed baemon closely I don't think you'd feel that way, they are very different.

She even gained the attention of Yuqi because of her fluency in Chinese
