Why is it so rare for girl groups to sell out stadiums in Korea?

  • We all know that girl groups attract much more attention from the general public than boy groups in Korea.

They have more national hits, appear at the top of the year-end Gallup polls, in short, they arouse more interest in general.

Even so, correct me if I'm wrong, but no girl group has ever filled a stadium in Korea. Not SSND, not Twice, not aespa, not IVE, not even BP (so far). While several boy groups with much less recognition have been able to do so.

What could be the reason for this?

It couldn't be the lack of a large fandom, since all the groups mentioned sell millions of albums nationally per comeback.

    So what could it be?

I would like to know your opinion on this.

  • fandom size

fans buy tickets to their favs for concerts and BG generally have a bigger fandom than GG but recently (say within the last 5 years or so - someone with data can probably back me up) GG fandoms have been increasing relative to BG
