So that also means WhyKnock will have to continue his crucial service of warning Kpop fans about the threat of IU, for another 50 years.

Congratulations WhyKnock , live long and prosper.

Congratulations WhyKnock , line long and prosper.

Thank you. It is a fight for a long haul so I will try to stay alive till her final concert.

People who were not born yet when the Senior Singer had debuted are now debuting, and although the newer generation is respecting the Senior Singer less and less, she will linger for quite a while with her exiting fans.

All aging acts invariably lose fans. Just retain the core.

But relative to others, IU has been regularly gaining fans even in her 15th year. And her Gallup numbers still are very strong among the teens and twenties.

So even if only those born in 90s,00s, 10s, 20s remain her fans - 4 decades of S.Koreans will be an impressive number if they turn up for her in her 70s.

So the now 1,352 years old is recruiting fans from at least those who were born in later 2010s, ensuring they would come to her concert when she is 70/1,390 years old.

  • Yes, and of course she also plays to the older demographic.

Kpop/pop companies are lazy in focusing only on the teen/twenty demographics - while those are the ages which can take an act viral, they don't guarantee longevity, bcoz even the teen fans, tastes invariably change as they grow older.

Teens should still be the primary market, but giving some attention to kids and middle ages, can go a long way.

IU whether by innate nature or marketing sense, possibly both - reaches across demographic groups by age or gender.
