This is still one of the best and most emotionally gripping debut songs/MV ever

Shout out to The Ark for dropping one of the most beautifully somber MVs the industry has ever seen.

Along with one of the best songs of the past decade

They deserved better. Crazy we're just a month away from it being a decade since their debut :|

  • When I read this title, I thought 'whatever the MV will be, it can't ever be as emotionally gripping as the The Ark debut MV', and then it turns out to be exactly that MV :wow:^^

Whoa, it's already 10 years... yeah, they deserved so much better than getting dumped after their debut failed to impress their company.

I think it might have been a case of mismatch in expectations: while The Light is one of the most emotionally captivating MV's in K-pop, maybe they should have started with another MV and song, or at least not only this one as debut title track.

Because pre-debut they had a totally different vibe going for them, very promising as potentially THE best girl crush group of their times with dance practice and teaser videos like this:

They even already had a sub-unit before debut:

Their company should have had more faith and not drop them so quickly, they had so much potential. If The Ark had been under SM, they would've been given a lot more leeway to try and find their footing and audience.

  • I forgot how on point all their dance covers and practices were. Yes, this group had it all, and they deserved more than JUST their debut title track.

What an unbelievable squandering of a group that had what it took to get to the top if their company didn't fail them.

I don't see people often talk about The Ark, but they made a lot of noise when they debuted, at least with i-fans, and then...nothing. Until they quietly disbanded.

  • I was not prepared for this. ;(

I think K-pop needs to bring this energy back into the mix instead of everything being about bragging all the time. Don't get me wrong. I like both sides, but I think it's leaning way too much towards one.
