Not only they all sing and play their instruments, they also write and co-produce their own songs, like Day6

I'm not exactly sure how popular they are in the US but should be popular enough judging from their Spotify streams which the highest is 234 mil I actually don't know how high or low is that, and their lead single from their latest album is 65mil.

I'm just wondering like if Day6 were to try out in the west how would it be like. I kinda don't really see them going for the "idol image", but maybe more of the "band image" like other bands in the US. They also have 2 English speakers which will really help out a lot if they were to try and venture more into the Western market. Day6 themselves have already written a few English songs, and Jae himself also have multiple English songs under eaj.

  • I dont know if you have seen the interview Jae did with a memberof 96 degrees, etc but he said Day6 was not an idol group. Their music is pretty good, but believe it or not I dont really listen to radio that much. I would love to see Day6 push an English song in the west, I mean strictly for western radio, I dont know I think they would do good.

I feel like over the years the more fans they got the more they kinda were 'forced' to have the idol image? Previously they actually performed at like bars and places where the age demographic is more mature but as they become more and more popular and gain more newer younger fans, somehow something happened and they kinda have to have a 'semi idol' image.

True, it's kind of like FT Island they also fell into that idol band group which I know Hongki didnt like.
