Anyone know how to store seaweed?

  • So just a little curious cause I usually just leave it in the packing but I went shopping recently so I can try a bunch of stuff and get back into cooking. I like sea weed in my ramen and wondered if there was an ideal way to store it or if what I do is fine? Thank you!

  • uh looks like the ones that's not easily breakable thick sheets?


    if the packaging haven't been opened yet then store it at a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight I suppose.


    if it's already opened then it's probably a good idea to chop them up in to smaller pieces using a scissors and put it in a sealed air-tight container and store it in the fridge. best to put a disposable glove on while chopping them seaweeds up I guess.


    if the sheet is crispy and easily breakable then I don't recommend putting them in the fridge, cus it would get soggy and less crispy when it gets too cold, just put it in a sealed air-tight container at a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight.
