Well... some of them I like.
I feel like I'm maybe more into anime than I am into Western animation.
I did watch a Swedish animated movie recently, but I feel like it is more because I had seen the trailer for that movie in a VHS as a child.
And in 2020, I watched a lot of VHSes that I watched when I was younger, which includes animated movies.
I have also watched the 90's Moomin anime series sometimes.
I know that some people are like "animations are only for kids".
Or at least, one time at Oscars, they were like that, despite the fact that "Flee", an ADULT animated movie, was nominated.
Because of some people thinking that "animations are just for kids", there might be some adults buying animated movies for their children and being like "meh, it's animated, so it's for kids." or "Oh, Akira, my 9 year old son is going to like this."
Well... when I was younger, I seriously thought that The Simpsons and South Park was for children...
And I remember when I watched the French movie "The Triplets of Belleville", not knowing that it was a PG-13 one. (I can't remember how old I was when I watched that movie though.) Well... thank goodness, that movie didn't traumatize me. (except maybe one scene that gave me a jump scare)
And when I was in my early teens, I felt like I was childish for liking Disney Channel shows (including animated series), Barbie movies and other stuff.
I got into anime when I was like 12. And it was Naruto, and then late I got into some other shounen animes, and then a seinen anime called "Emma: A Victorian Romance" (which I thought was a shoujo or josei).
I don't think I have watched any anime for a while, but I watched a season of Spy x Family last year.
And I also watched an anime movie called "Night on the Galactic Railroad". (It is a well-made movie, but I personally found that movie a bit too weird.)
When it comes to animation marked for teens or adults, I think I prefer anime.
Like I feel like some adult animated series seem like "12 year olds trying to be edgy" (even though this can probably be said about some animes as well).
I do also like animated series and movies targeted towards children because those can be good too.
Even though I feel like there are some movies that probably are like "It's a children's movie, so it doesn't have to be good"
I really liked Coco, when I watched that movie, but maybe because I didn't have high expectations of it, and I was maybe thinking "much better than I expected".
I think that I prefer the ones that are made for everyone and that even adults can enjoy.
Well... I looked at a cinema website in my country and it seems like they are going to show "The Wild Robot" one day, which seems like a good movie.
I know that it is based on a book and maybe I'll read that book one day.
Not at me writing a whole essay lol
