A Romance of Their Own (2004)

  • Finally saw this movie after wanting to for years now. Why are movies and shows from this era so much better to me? This is every k drama from 2005 to 2015 all condensed into one movie. I had a great time with this one.

Love the female protagonist. What else has she been in?

emanresu have you seen or heard of this? It's got the dreamy 2000s Korea aesthetic to it that we both love. The guys with long hair, the girls with flip phones, the old school uniforms. 2000s Korea is second ONLY to 90s Japan.

  • This is a movie or a drama??

No I've never heard of it!

    But it looks interesting.

I've never heard of this girl either? What's her name?

Yes I love Korean stuff from this era.... they had this certain feel. No so much gloss.

I'm watching Winter Sonata right now, from 2002.

One like you I'd been meaning to watch forever.

It's got one of my favorite actress Choi Ji Woo in it, but I had only seen her when she was older.

Oh my God love it. The whole mood and feel.

I will add this to my list to watch too. Thanks for sharing!

  • It's a movie. Lee Chung Ah is her name. Don't know anything about her or her career. But she plays a country girl who moves to Seoul to live with her Mom when her Dad dies and in classic k drama gets caught up in a love triangle at her new school.

Do add it and don't forget about the other one I told you about " My Mighty Princess".

I looked up Winter Sonata and it looks really good. What episode are you on?

Wait!!!! I just looked this girl up and I saw her in the few episodes of Celebrity (a recent k-drama) I watched a few episodes of. She plays one of the main characters but not the lead.... Oh this is her really young. Cool!

I'll have to check this out

Winter Sonata is one of the classic k-drama. I just finished Episode 1 10 minutes ago lol

One thing that is so refreshing about older k-dramas.... People actually talk.... Like not in quirky catch phrases and stuff.

    But real conversations....

And Ji Woo.... Oh she's so charming. God what dream girl.

She's interesting in that I first saw her as a middle age woman in a k-drama and was smitten... So pretty and charming. Just something about her.

And didn't realize at the time how she's one of the big actresses of the original Hallyu Wave with Winter Sonata. And God she's so pretty when she's young too. Wow. I'm sold.

Here's her about the time I first saw her.
