BLACKPINK, Twice, MAMAMOO and NewJeans' concert intros for their US stages (recorded by me!)

  • I was going to put this in my other concert thread, but after organizing, editing and upscaling these videos, I think they deserve their own thread. Plus those who already saw that thread might miss these epic moments.

There is an incredible, nervous energy that you really only get at the start of a concert, when the excited crowd of fans anxiously anticipate the appearance of their favorite idols, ready to explode the moment the music kicks in.

So I uploaded those moments to an extra YT account I have

I apologize if anyone gets a headache from watching these. Especially the NJ one (I WAS TIRED, OKAY?!) :pepe-cringe: But the goal was never to film the perfect video

I just wanted to capture the almost overwhelmingly visceral experience of thousands of people collectively losing their shit the moment they finally get to see the idols we all pour so much time and passion into supporting in our own ways.

And yes, I cut the filming right when the action started because I wanted to enjoy the stages with my eyes not my phone~

Anyway, enjoy the footage if you care to relive my experiences with me :holding-back-tears:

  • I have more of everything, and I'll take requests. Granted the NJ clips are just OKAY, like the rest of them, but I have more

well you know my preference :) I really like how immersive the clip is, this is rock solid proof of how hard you must have worked to get that spot, its insanely good considering there were ~70,000 behind you

I think I have an idea of your preference :eyes:

I'll look through the rest of my NJ videos and upload a couple more tomorrow. And yes, I meant it when I said I sacrificed my body to get a spot that close to the stage~

The only way I would've been able to get closer if I was willing to stand for 6 hours instead of 5 and give up any chance at merch (or filling up my hydration pack or going to the bathroom), and that wasn't gonna happen.

Changed the title of the thread from “Capturing the moment some of the biggest girl groups (BP, Twice, MMM, NJ) in K-Pop take the stage (US only)” to “BLACKPINK, Twice, MAMAMOO and NewJeans' concert intros for their US stages (recorded by me!)”.

    More clips as promised :-)

I know there are much higher quality, complete videos out there, but this was my perspective and experience seeing NJ in person for the first time :holding-back-tears:

  • did you prefer the live band versions or studio versions in a festival space?

    Oooh, this one is easy.

For these songs I absolute preferred the live band versions:

    Cookie (especially that rock version)

    OMG

    Hurt

I preferred the studio version for these songs:

Hype Boy (it's just too perfect)

    Attention

For this song, both are perfect and I loved them equally:

    Ditto

  • I thought they could have tightened Hype Boy a bit instrumentally but the girls energy was too good so maybe helped them loosen up

Everything else I liked the Live versions more

Did the sound change much for the Get Up half?

I didn't dislike the arrangement for Hype Boy, but nothing is going to top the song in its original format for me.

But it's a small trade off for NJ to flex their vocals and really engage the crowd with a live band performing all their now classic hits. I wasn't upset~

The Get Up half of their stage was all studio tracks, and I was okay with that. It was my first time seeing them live, so I kind of wanted to hear the original song arrangements in person

The whole set was some of the most fun I've had with random strangers, most of whom suffered together with me while waiting hours for the moment NJ finally emerged.
