The unfortunate fact of IU having had a concert in Korea's biggest venue undermines the K-O-R-E-A-N concerts of various internationally relevant 4th Gen acts

  • The concerts of BlackPink in a Thai stadium and Twice in stadiums in Japan and USA open a new chapter in KPop's expansion.

That shows acts not named BTS can now hold stadium tours.

But that leaves an uncomfortable shadow, because even to them, and all other acts not named EXO, BTS and NCT, the main stadium in K-O-R-E-A remains elusive. Twice, even now, had to settle for the KSPO dome(the Gymnastics Arena)f in K-O-R-E-A.

BlackPink, Twice and now aespa, no matter whether they might fill a real stadium outside of Korea, but they have a hard time filling an arena in K-O-R-E-A.

As Korea becomes less and less relevant as far as KPop is concerned, I think the acts should forget K-O-R-E-A , which is now becoming increasingly irrelevant in the power structure of KPop, and have no concerts in there to avoid to be compared to IU.

Until IU retires from KPop, every singer who didn't have a concert in Korea's biggest venue will be compared to her, despite of her almost complete irrelevance to the world.

Even when she is not singing, the singer who contributed the least aggregate amount to the expansion of KPop is creating an issue. She, by her very presence, degrades the achievements of Twice, BlackPink and others outside of K-O-R-E-A.
