do you hate monopolies? how many nugu artists do you support financially? i don't think a true monopoly can ever be achieved in kpop. smaller companies will always pop up unless a large corporation with a big share of the market colludes with a dangerous

A true monopoly is a very real thing and no governmental involvement required. A corrupt big company like HYBE let's be honest it will turn this way eventually as all companies do their number one goal is make money for its shareholders and it's own interests. Plus any successive CEOs can make it more sinister. Just look at the corrupt shady shit hook entertainment did how it practically shadow banned people from the industry able to lowkey push people out of the industry. Remember sm entertainment famously did this to the most famous idol in the world at the time the equivalent of BTS with Jaejoong from dbsk tvxq but after winning lawsuits and getting soo much public attention and laws changed etc and culture, image, mindset change in the country over the past decade he's been back openly in the industry. But before that he only tuored overseas as these shadow bans were and are still somewhat common place. so a super monopoly like hybe owning the largest labels etc could easily put pressure clandestinely to shadow ban any new fledgling company from rising, just think something like Ateez would never be able to exist in a monopoly KQ would have been snuffed out overnight.
