  • Their expenses are too high though. Their operating profit margins actually decreased which usually isnt good for their stock value, markets usually punish companies for narrowing margins. If this were an American company, stock market analysts and shareholders with large stakes in the company would be demanding that expenses be slashed. That usually is code for layoffs and cancellations of unprofitable ventures.


    Kpop just seems prohibitively expensive especially since it's such a visual medium. All those stage productions, outfits, training in both vocals and dance, lavish music videos, etc, they all require massive upfront investment it seems like. That's why i chuckle sometimes when i see folks on TW scapegoating their fave's companies for the lack of success of their faves, always crying for more promotions, i'm like bruh, that shit cost money, if your faves are only selling 50k albums and charting 187 on Melon, where is the money gonna come from to promote them better?
