Before BTS, Kpop albums were nowhere to be found in the US store shelves. Not at Target. Not at Walmart. Not on Amazon. You will be pressed to find one anywhere.

Before BTS, there were no Kpop Categories. It only appeared because the western music industry wanted to box in BTS so they don't have to be nominated with major artists for major awards.

Before BTS, no Kpop group had ever even thought of submitting their group's music for Grammy nomination. After BTS did, everyone thought, "hey, we can do it too"! BTS failed to win and they get mocked. Kpoppies acting like a bunch of unemployed people mocking an employed person for not getting promoted!. That is an accurate description of Kpoppies after a Grammy loss for BTS.

Before BTS, social media engagements were never put into practice. It only came about after BTS was nominated for Social Artist because of these engagements. They were mocked by the same fandoms whose faves established their social media just months later. All of a sudden, a nomination for Social Artist is a MUST.

Before BTS started making a comeback on a Friday, no Kpop groups had done it. Look what happened since then!

Before BTS started dropping a pre-release single, no Kpop group had done it before but now they do.

Before BTS, no one dreamt openly of making it to #1 on Hot 100. Now, it's openly talked about. BTS were laughed at when they talked about it years before it happened. But now, kpoppies think, why not?

It is now openly mentioned that Kpoppies want their faves to also perform at BBMA, AMA and Grammy. Why? Because BTS did it.

BTS now has a new achievement. #1 on Billboard for Vinyl Sales. What's next for other groups? Get that #1 Vinyl Sales Chart. Very predictable!

Everything has to be started by BTS. If BTS succeeds, they sure will follow. If BTS fails, Kpoppies will be the first one to criticize. BTS have to always carry Kpop on their backs and it gets exhausting.

How much more paving does BTS have to do before other groups actually do something on their own that was not started by BTS?

These two tweets are enough to prove that Kpop only went international in 2018 coinciding with the release and popularity of the LY trilogy. There were a couple one-off successes in 2010-11 but that's it.

other kpop artist acc. started after BTS won top social artist. performing at the american award shows was thought unattainable but BTS does it and then others start performing. BTS PAVED THE WAY FOR THE REST !
