The only brands that honored the OT7 or nothing before BTS started their solo promos (way later than most of their peers) were Dior in 2018 and Louis Vuitton in 2021. As 9397Duo said, they really dedicated/sacrificed their individual career opportunities for BTS the brand. And because of that decision (which I 1000% supported), kpop stans really think BTS, the MOST POPULAR GROUP GLOBALLY at this very moment, wouldn't have had offers from reputable brands GLOBALLY?? Just like with the Olympics, people really think they wouldn't have been the first choice? But then the World Cup has made that abundantly clear how stupid that sounds.
Is common sense no longer common? Maybe common sense leaves the room for the very bitter.
It just sucks how BTS had to wait 9-10 years for all the missed opportunities they have received since 2017. I'm always reminded of what Taehyung said back in 2017 that BTS "could have been bigger" than they were but they prioritized the group first and solidified the BTS brand musically. Always makes one wonder what would happen if they did what their peers were already doing solo and group-wise during their Chapter 1....
