Predict; Will Txt also become 3 million seller like Stray Kids?

  • Txt last album did 1.8M on Gaon, do you think they can make the jump to 3M this January comeback? Last time they jump from 800K to 1.8M so everything seems possible

  • Stray Kids getting 3 million sales with one album shouldn't be THAT impressive tbh.

I'm speaking from a realistic perspective. But their streams nor do their charting match their album sales.

Its literally just fans mass buying to "break a record" or/and "prove a point", its not cuz the music is so bomb and everyone knows it, and they just this big group.

Even their 2 number #1s on the Billboard 200 charts is cuz of U.S fans bulk buying, not cuz they just sooo impressive and the music just hit so bad. AND they are the next token stanning group, cuz people wanna see them " beat BTS" or "match BTS level".

So to make my point, we shouldn't be expecting other groups to hit 3 million album sales, because its unrealistic unless bulk buying is involved OR that group has the music and popularity to match it.

I see TXT hitting 2 million preorders this January comeback and overall after the album is out, 2.5-2.7 million sales

(also anyone who say something about BTS bulk buying can be quiet. Cuz BTS since the beginning been making good music, plus their following and streams and everything else match).

  • Every new day an essay from K-pop stans downplaying achievements they don't consider impressive like it they are trying to prove it to themselves and to someone else. Cringe af.

  • About the question, I follow and like both groups, but It's hard to predict. As far as I know, Stray Kid's explosive sales was due their massive rise in popularity in China, unless something similar happened with TXT, I think It's better the fans don't have high expectations just cause another group did It or they can be frustrated If TXT doesn't reach the goal, even If they do well.

    being REALISTIC is cringe now???

literally all I did was point the facts, and no one likes when that happens.

They don't chart in the Top 100 on any Korean charts and they don't chart in the Top 100 on Billboard charts.

The 2 #1s on the Billboard 200 came from the U.S fans bulk buying units.....that's it.

Heck even this year, TXT got #4, ENHYPEN #6, and

Le sserafim first ever appearance on the BB 200 was a debut at #14.

Like the only reason TXT or even Enhypen didn't hit #1 is cuz they don't have the same amount of U.S fans as Stray kids, to be able to buy up album sales to get at the top......that's it....

That's why I said I'm not impressed with anything that comes to sales involving them, cuz its just mass buying, with nothing else to reflect the group ACTUALLY being popular and making noise, and im sure a lot of other people agree- seeing how they aren't impressed either, only a few.

I person getting 3 million sales for one album should be charting in the Top 10 on Melon, getting 15+ million monthly listeners on Spotify, charting in the Top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100, and you should be known outside of the kpop bubble- especially in Western countries and in their HOME country Korea.

Now you see that criteria, that's what I mean when I say someone getting 3 million with one album matching everything else that comes with it

...which Stray Kids didnt. Just eager fans wanting to break a record...

  • it'll come a time where skz will actually reach mots:7 sales numbers but by the time bts was selling 3 million they were making much more noise in the industry on a worldwide level. if i'm not mistaken skz reached 3 million sales with the digipacks, that means what: 11 versions total? the main factor is china, where they sold a lot and where hyunjin has gotten extremely popular. they didn't grow at all in the US.

  • Every new day an essay from K-pop stans downplaying achievements they don't consider impressive like it they are trying to prove it to themselves and to someone else. Cringe af.

if stating facts is downplaying achievements then idk what to say.

  • Undermining SKZ again… aren’t you guys tired? It’s okay we’re used to this. Stray Kids have been called flops since debut and look where they are now. Their growth has been insane, slow and steady wins the race. I’m afraid y’all are gonna eat your words when they have their next comeback and break more records.

  • stray kids just got lucky they became huge in china. their increase in sales all came from their chinese fanbases, that's why the streams still stay the same. hybe idols haven't been china's favorites since bts' controversies so i doubt txt will ever reach straykids' sales. txt will continue out-doing them digitally though.

  • who knows, TXT is an unpredictable group. But the big difference between TXT and SKZ is the acceptance of the general public. SKZ had two opportunities this year and they didn't know how to take advantage of it, only their fans and their bulk purchase. TXT was able to experience the reception by the general public at Lollapalooza, Summer Sonic and kpop stans in Chile, so we don't know how many people will buy this album if they like their music. REMEMBER that the distribution of HYBE is lousy.

  • Ok, darling. I hope I helped you to take everything off your chest while quoting. You've been very invested.

This is so wrong lol. No all sales didn't come from China that's just absurd when you already know they've been selling million albums before they got big in China. Chinese fans contributed 900k+ or almost 1m. Other sales came from other countries

Of course they gonna break more records when it comes to sales, cuz of BULK BUYING lol.

That doesn't impress me AT ALL.

The only way people will see Stray Kids actually being popular, is when they chart AT LEAST in the Top 30 on Melon + other Korean charts, because its their HOME country. And when they enter the Billboard Hot 100 in AT LEAST the Top 50. Also their monthly listeners should rise to 15+ million on Spotify bare minimum. And get 300+ million streams on their title track, and 100+ million streams on their b-sides. And do a tour in the U.S with 50,000+ capacity.

So unless they make that type of noise, I still don't see people taking them seriously or being impressed.

You can easily manipulate the Billboard 200 cuz of U.S fans and bulk buying. So another "#1" won't mean anything if the other criteria I listed don't happen.

BTS had hit 3+ million preorders by their 6th year as a group in 2019 with Map Of The Soul : Persona.

But by then, BTS was big on a worldwide scale, performing at American Award shows, Winning A bunch of international awards, doing big collabs with Western artists, being called the biggest group in the world and doing football stadium tours worldwide plus more.....................

Stray Kids aren't doing any of that, but got 3 million sales💀.

  • not them up in here writing paragraphs upon paragraphs of copium while downplaying stray kids

make a thread on main if it hurts you that much

  • " bulk buying " welcome to kpop, where everything another group is doing is illegal and only my faves can benefit from it. So childish.

  • " bulk buying " welcome to kpop, where everything another group is doing is illegal and only my faves can benefit from it. So childish.

Lmao without Bulk Buying BTS would still be on top at #1 because every other thing matches their popularity.

Their streams, their charting, their worldwide fanbase and everything else. So sales isn't just everything for BTS.

You have people even putting BTS next to names like Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Adele, Drake, The Beatles, and other big names.

Stray Kids getting those sales, without having anything to back it up.......................not even known in their home country, nor do anybody besides kpop stans care about them.

Dont be tight at me cuz the shoe fits the facts lol.

Their sales don't impress me nor most other people.

  • I’m not even an army but it’s weird I was more impressed when BTS pulled 3M sales with their persona. And now many groups are doing it but I’m desensitized.

As someone already said, the impact doesn’t go beyond the sales. It’s all numbers and it just ends there.

It’s sad though, for bgs. Because the girls are killing it. They do 1M sales and yet able to chart and get new listeners. Ggs are growing and will soon break the bottleneck set by majority of their predecessors in past gens
