Can StayC recover?

  • They were doing so well a year ago and were in the conversation of being among the 4th gen leaders. Next to Aespa they were the hottest GG. Since then their last comeback flopped and many new GGs have debuted and surpassed them. I haven't even seen them being invited to any end of the year award shows and that's a bad sign when it comes to the relevancy of a group.

Do you think they can grab the GP's attention again and be considered by many as a top 5 GG?

  • they were not even invited? damn

  • 2021 feels like a different era.

The top rookies of today hadn't debuted yet. Gidle's status was up in the air because of the controversy (with some people ranking them below Weeekly, what an absolute clownery).

Now a whole new set of hands has been dealt. And it's hard to say what STAYC can or cannot achieve. Top 5 might be out of grasp; is that so bad though? (no pun itended)

    I don't know.

  • theres new jeans, lesserafim and ive who have debuted this year. All were monster rookies and set the bar high. Gidle made a huge comeback with a national hit and aespa and itzy sold over a million album sales. In comparision stayc is falling off and might not even make it to top 6 however you can never really say things for certain. Don't forget last year. Stayc might make waves again with their next comeback since they have a signature sound that they deliver pretty good.

  • They are the one group i've consistently voiced concerns about. BEP needs to do much better in choosing title tracks, So Bad was a SOTY contender and Beautiful Monster was great too, but the others were not it at all. OTOH they've had some amazing Bsides like Slow Down and I Like It.

But yes they are in danger of being Everglowed or Weeeklyed. They went from top 3 in 4th generation with Itzy and Aespa to 7th.

Beautiful Monster flopped. It was a bad choice to try something so different. In hindsight there wasn't much room for error when knowing how well the rookie groups coming out would do. That comeback could be seen as a big setback.

  • lesserafim above itzy? also off topic but would loona be with nmixx+kep1er?

Yep, i forgot about Loona i would put them in the same tier as NMIXX/Kepler.

Lesserafim hit top 10 with Fearless and now Antifragile is extremely stable at #3 and might even outlast Nude (the UL difference was over 120k at one point and now it's down to 50k or so). Sneakers hit top 5 on Melon so it was definitely a hit but it's fallen off to 39, while Fearless is holding strong at 28, even though Fearless is two months older.

Also, I think Aespa has a little more overall popularity than Itzy/LSRFM, that's why i put them at #4, i think Karina and Winter trump what LSRFM and Itzy bring to the table at least right now.

  • Funny how you said that because ASAP is the only (semi) hit song they have

  • Their songs are hit or miss unlike ive who constantly releases hit songs
