Why barely any Kpop concerts in SEA and even KCON?

  • Why do companies send idols to authoritarian countries like Saudi Arabia where they are very restricted when they have a bigger fandom support in SEA and culturally closer?

    See how many they are?

  • they already have SEA as a captured market. KCON and other countries are to expand the territory

There have been a bunch of Kpop concerts in SEA tho this year?

Allobank Festival in Indonesia in May

Kpop Masterz in Thailand in July

    Kpopland in Indonesia in Sept

Best of best in Thailand in october

Bangkok Arena K in Thailand in October

I Pop U in the Philippines in October

    Let’s Love Indonesia in Nov

    Stand alone:

    - TXT In Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines

    - Super Junior in Singapore

    - (G)I-DLE in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand

    - Seventeen in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand

    - NCT 127 in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines

    - SKZ in Indonesia, and in Singapore, Thailand and Philippines in early 2023

    - Blackpink in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore in early 2023

  • There are plenty of K-pop concerts in SEA tho. It’s just that concerts in countries like Saudi Arabia get more buzz for being “rare” hence more talked about by K-pop fandoms. Why they go there? Money and supportive fans.

  • Seventeen is about to play the biggest SEA Tour of the year with 9 dates... two being stadiums
