Will Aespa's 1-year hiatus hurt them?

  • It's confirmed that Aespa will be on another 9-11 month hiatus and the last time they did this many fans left for other groups.

Do you guys think they could end up blowing up instead with the right song choice or, will this decision hurt Aespa?

  • No.

How many singles did they release in the beginning of the year as collabs or renewed songs? And they charted all of them i think.

They were over exposing themselves to the fans and thus they don't have one single destroying everything but multiple songs charting.

How many? I only remember Dreams come true which was in December 2021, they haven't released any singles until their comeback with Girls in the middle of the year.

  • Nope. Everyone said that about the last gap too and they just set a record when they returned.

  • Yes, because who wants to Stan an aging group with yearly comebacks

Their comeback will peak high, be front loaded then drop off the charts unless they foster loyalty somehow

I remember something called forever? And their collab with seniors. Then life's too short and then illusion.

I would count dreams come true too if it was released in December.

I would say they need this time between cbs but what they should do is give them individual promos.

Forever was all the way back from February 2021.

Step Back was from January 2022 and only included Karina and Winter.

Life's Too Short and Illusion are part of Girls' EP. Despite LTS being performed at Coachella, it was only released on digital platform along with the rest of Girls' EP. Can't even say Illusion as a stand-alone single because it is a bside from the EP.

Aespa is faaar from over exposure.

  • yes unless SM able to give them another SOTY potential song

  • They will continue to get their china album sales but that's about it. The only other recognizable thing they have other than their inlfated album sales is getting a national hit with Next Level. They aren't even on Blackpink level but if Blackpink can't get #1 on Melon after their hiatus so what says them? They would be throwing away their only advantage they have with digitals to just be another flop boy group that gets a shit ton of sales but otherwise is irrelevant.
