    Really? No way YG or any other big companies actually would lie about pre order numbers.

    Probably because they overshipped stock preorders (just a reminder that 2m is what stores ordered, not fans themselves).

    stores also go way beyond that and order based on past performance and based on, yes, highly calculated estimates based on current stats — places like Target, HMV, etc are ordering in bulk and not basing it off fan preorders. this is also how Adele overshipped. obviously the stores calculated for higher demand thanks to her insane record and the initial hype.

    They have always had a big gap with Circle and Hanteo, why do you all think you actually know anything about them? they will sell over those 2m, your asses are just trying to pray they don't

    like many here said, it's not lying.

    it's just companies ordering a certain amount of albums based on past performance and hype

    yg is master at creating hype for bp cbs, so i'm not surprised companies immediately asked for so many preorders.


    it's indeed what happened with adele too

    her cb was so highly anticipated after years, companies even ordered 1 million vinyls to be made

    but, while still doing okay, her cb REALLY underperformed to what these companies expected & barely any of the vinyls got actually sold...
