I would never imagine RV outlasting Twice

    Charting wise. I can't believe it tbh, how? RV has such polarizing concepts, from decent to sudden hit songs and etc. but Twice had hits after hits and now can't even crack top30? especially when the song is good. and RV are older group too, had one of the big scandals in kpop, but Feel my rhythm is doing very good, it's on 51 on melon now and peaked on gaon at #3. I doubt Twice can achieve that unless song goes viral. I genuinely don't understand what happened

    I don't get why this is such a surprise to some people here in AKP, TWICE have been underperforming for years now, ever since they lost their top hit producer.


    There's a whole bunch of groups that have structurally been charting better than TWICE the past years, Aespa, Red Velvet, Oh My Girl, Brave Girls, (G)Idle, Newjeans, IVE and on and on.


    It's not that Red Velvet have been doing that much better than usual, although the charting of their last 3 songs was solid to good: it's just that TWICE's charting has been that abysmal that a whole mass of groups - from 2nd gen to 4th gen, from Big 4 to non-Big 4 groups, from older to rookie groups - have been charting better than TWICE in Korea.


    Blame JYP and the change in TWICE's song producers.

    Twice are pretty one-dimensional. That dimension has been overtaken by newcomers (noticeably IVE) and RV and many of the other groups who have more consistent charting generally are more versatile with sound and concept.


    They had a great run for years with their concepts and songs. They lost BEP, and their concept has worn out it's welcome. No need to fret, celebrate the years they had on top, more success then most other groups will ever get.

    They stuck to cute concept way too much and when they decided to change they did it way too fast, at least with feel special they transitioned to the elegant concept which was Izone playhouse and Momo and Jihyo had their dating reveals

    Not just luvvies: Blinks, midzy, my, moomoo, neverlands, exol, army and a whole bunch of others have been pointing out TWICE's charting decline the past years, but once just didn't want to hear about it.


    But it's not over yet.

    A lot of groups have started slowly, only to rise in charts while promotion weeks continued.

    A slow start doesn't mean a low finish.

    I remember 2019 when RV had Zimzalabim and Umpa Umpa do ok but below their standards and Once’s were laughing at them calling them flops and no competition at all compared to 2018 Twice.


    But then karma hit and Twice started flopping while RV had Psycho and destroyed them. Twice got worse and worse meanwhile RV continued to slay.


    Now it’s turned upside down. Twice are no competition for RV whatsoever. In fact they’re no competition for anyone, even nugus outchart them. :pepe-full:

    Outlasting on melon I guess because twice outstream, outsell and can hold an actual WORLD tour.

    I would. Red Velvet make good songs. The occasional stinker, but most of their back catalog is quality and timeless pop music.


    I am fond of Twice but most of their music ages fast. And singing in too high a key is getting tough for them. I saw their recent live clip. They have to strain for those notes now.

    by getting famous because you're young and cute with not a shroud of talent, it is obvious 3 years in your career someone younger and fresher will show up and take your place if you have nothing else to back it up with. It happened to twice and everyone expected it

    and twice are still richer, have more impact and nayeon’s solo did better then anything rv have released in the past 2 years

    How is it surprising? RV music is good overall with the exception of a couple of songs but twice has been releasing bad song after bad song for years now

    Not a surprise since RV has some great music

    I mean over 100k UL's difference on Melon. Way more Gaon Points in the same time frame.
