What does SM lack to score global hits?

    NewJeans is even doing better on Spotify than NCT, who has been here for 6 years. Ive already outpaces Aespa globally. SM groups have yet to score a Hot 100 song, while YG, Hybe, JYP have. What about SM groups make them unable to be big globally, despite being vocally talented?

    they make music that doesn't appeal to western gp and they don't want to change the style. their plan is to convince western gp to like their style lol

    Their music isn't popular to American general public standard, and that music market is what reins globally

    music, actual demand (not shoving them to do much in the us) and live singing

    talent, artitry, aunthenticiy, charisma, originality, better people, better songs, live vocals, less white sounding people

    public friendly songs.


    I'm sure Taeyeon INVU is the most western song released by an SM act by far she actually promoted a little in the west with live singing I'm sure she actually wouldve have numbers but since taeyeon doesnt care about the west and shes fine only with korea she will never reach her huge potential she has


    imagine taeyeon singing INVU live in one american show. That would cause damage for real

    Westerners like boring and bland music.

    sm is stubborn about music direction and only want to just smp genre

    Their music is way too experimental than others and I bet even koreans feel the same way
