I like Rosé but here's what I think

She is the most talented bp member and very well rounded and one of the most musically inclined idols I think but she needs to let go of that indie sound she loves if she wants to succeed as a soloist. OTG and Gone are good songs but for a tt, OTG was really bland and didn't really eat. its nice to have individuality but I think if she wants success too, she needs to let go of the indie/underground sound. Honestly I was expecting her to at least serve rock or pop rock because that's still would have been much sonically better but sadly I was kind of disappointed. Her solo was definitely successful in korea considering she released an english song and on the same month as celebrity, rolling and lyw's solo at their peak but she could have done better with a less empty sound. Left wanting for more with her sound that's all I will comment.

it's not the indie-ness of her songs that's holding her back, her songs were just too bland

with the level of popularity she has as a bp member even a truly indie song could have been huge if it was actually good. she said the songs were from 2y+ ago & that was very clear in the sound

i think she just needs to hire some fresh and talented western producers if she really wants to go full asian TS/OR. also she needs A LOT of training in writing if she wants to go this route because all the lyrics of gone & OTG sounded like some 14y old wattpad story. seriously, at the moment she has all the needed connections & popularity to get there, all she needs to do atm is commit.

She is not in a company that can serve that. OTG and Gone were the best they could do. We shouldn't judge based on what was released. I don't believe they are given much choice or any input, and Rose was only given a writing credit because the company knew her fans expected it.

Really it's time for Rosie to leave, move to LA, and start working with indie writers and producers. But I think her confidence is not there. The way she tries to hide behind her hair like it's an invincibility shield. She's so pretty but knetz make her think she is lacking. I worry that it's damaged her self esteem to the point that she can't get herself out, like an emotionally abusive relationship.
