So, only BP are able to keep up with 4th gen rookie ggs, not TWICE anymore?

  • I just checked instiz and Melon after a couple of days and to my surprise I noticed the Top 10 is flooded with 4th gen gg songs, where I had expected BP and TWICE to fight eachother for the #1 and #2 spots. But BP ranks #3 and TWICE #50 right now.

    Consider me baffled.

What do you people think, is it just a time thing, both BP and TWICE songs need to have a few more days and then they'll top the charts? Or has 4th gen truly taken over officially now in South Korea (at least for ggs)?

It's not only 4th gg songs in the top 10, to be fair. BP and SNSD are there too with their songs (although I had expected BP at #1 with PAK, but ok).

  • BP needs promo to reach 1 similarly to IVE and NJ and every other 4th gen gg now. If you ain't doing promo you have to be at a huge level to stabilize at top 5.

For Twice they lost the momentum a long time ago so they need to push their new song as much as they can to get an Sneakers/Forever 1 type of performance.

  • to be fair Twice has had their last comeback underperform on the charts as well, and they haven't had a #1 since Fancy. I do have hope that TTT will rise, as its coming off of Nayeon's success, and it is genuinely their best title track in a few years.

  • #50 on melon isn't that bad, it's actually pretty good as they did no promo.... also don't forget that twice debuted one year early than BP so it's not fair to make the comparison. If BP was the one who debut earliar, i think they would be the one who would be at #50 on melon instead.
