Why has Twice lost hype while Blackpink and RedVelvet didn't?

  • Twice blackPink and RedVelvet all are frontrunners of 3rd generation

Twice was considered as a top gg for a good amount of time, while Blackpink gained international popularity and soared to new heights twice put up a decent fight to stay in second place. Rv couldn't match them and stayed below twice in terms of every metric. Fast forward 4th gen started Bp still the biggest gg and Rv picked up a quick boost with hiatus and scandal while twice well they kinda fell below them, their charting took a big hit with a series of flops and their international achievements are nothing impressive. What happened ?

twice fell from grace pretty quick. Can anyone explain why did it happen? Is it JYP? is it thier cute concept loving fans who moved to the younger gg? or gp no longer find twice good? or their reputation for being bad vocalists caught up to them?

    This is a real mystery

  • BP, I get. But Red Velvet fell off a couple of times lmao. Red Velvet has had a history of having underperforming songs, and then songs that do well. Not the same thing.

  • sk gets over groups like twice quick because they only listen their cute/fun songs occasionally

groups like rv and bp have more longevity cause the public can count on them to make good music but twice aren't known to be making nice music

  • Didn't Red Velvet lose hype?

Every year in their career they had a smash or a decent hit and Feel My Rhythm smashed digitally, went viral, and outsold every previous album of theirs by miles. Twice hasn't had a fraction of Psycho's or FMR's success since 2018 sadly

Red Velvet have never 'flopped' for more than a year in their careers. Twice has been flopping MORE & MORE since 2018 and their last single peaked at 32 on charts. Red Velvet's peaked at 2.

  • is there more difference between BP and Twice than between Twice and RV?

  • What's really interesting is how consistent Red Velvet has been. Contrary to AKP's whacked opinions, and even my own predictions, RV has maintained their presence in the Korean music scene with very little dropoff. Queendom was like one of a handful of 3rd gen songs that charted in the top 10 of Melon last year, Joy's solo peaked in the top 15 or so, Wendy in the top 30, plus Feel My Rhythm was a top 5 ish song on Melon. Very consistent.

  • I still don't know why BP is mentioned here when they aren't even in the same league anymore

Stop summoning blinks when we actually don't care about your groups

For was 3 actually, still sm best performing song this year

  • Actually red velvet isnt any better. They highly depend on quality of song to chart. They similarly have a bunch of underperforming songs

Twice is gradual decline but RV is fluctuating

The only one keep outdoing previous song is Blackpink so far but we will have to see how PV and the new title track do on the chart (both domestic and international)
