Why can’t BTS/Blackpink be loved in Korea like SNSD?

SNSD is in their 15 years, yet their recent comeback makes more buzz in Korea than both Bts/Blackpink comebacks.They even got younger groups sending messages to them. Why they remain the most loved group in Korea?

I think BTS might have a similar response if they were a girl group (imagine new gg sending messages to bts, they would be eaten alive by some jealous fans). Blackpink on the other hand is insanely popular but they didn’t offer as much as SNSD in content like constant varieties and various comebacks to be beloved. Their impact lies on how trendy they are in fashion and how cool and pretty they are in music but not perceived as precious. BTS is closer to that because they are all Korean and they raised SK’s economy to the world so they became a pride to SK. However aside from pride and many comebacks, they weren’t really much present on Korean TV either (not including news of achievements).

I'm sure new generation groups send them messages too

With the success they have as is so they really need to have SNSD level of popularity with public? They are more then well of without it.

What is more buzz? Pink Venom is at 450k uls and its at 2 while SNSD is at 5 with 300k uls, where is the buzz?

They already renewed, their tour is past their contract expiration which is in april. And does it matter if its the 15th anniversary? you are here saying their cb did more buzz but BP did better, so why are you changin the topic now?

You do know SNSD dominance over Korea was between 2009 and 2015 right? They were part of Korean pop culture from the charts to TV and more.

SNSD still doing well 15 years later competing with 4th gen is a testament to how beloved they are, most ggs of their era (2ne1, Kara etc) long since faded and don’t hold any relevance anymore while SNSD are still alive and kicking. You don’t even know if BP will still be around in a couple years let alone 15.

Again what about it? OP said they had more buzz, in the end they didn't, Forever 1 still under Pink Venom and its looking to stay there, maybe go write some essay to OP for lying and not to me for being factual.

Tbh I don't think anyone In 3rd / 4th gen would achieve BIGBANG - SNSD level of longevity

For groups to have hits on their 15+ years is simply a foreign concept in Kpop, 1st gen failed and the only group doing that in 2nd gen are BIGBANG & SNSD. BTS is now on their 9th year and their future is still unknown. Will they enlist? Will they still do group endorsements? Will they have a representative soloists that will preserve their title as the Top 1 of Kpop like BIGBANG & GIRLS GENERATION who have G DRAGON & TAEYEON continuing their relevancy throughout 3rd & 4th gen?

Also, SNSD biggest strength has always been their variety appeal to the general public + good music and this comeback was after 5 years of hiatus, it's a natural that they are well-received after all those years

Another thing is their agency, BLACKPINK can easily be undefeated by anyone if YG promoted them like an actual idol.

it is simple. BLACKPINK has a SEA member in it and we know how much knetizens hate idols from SEA. Had Blackpink all 4 members made up of koreans, they will be more liked.

Also, their image is too westernised to be called a korean NGG. Korean NGG is really NOT about impact and success only but the image must fit koreans taste. Twice was called that (not coincidence that twice early image was so close with SNSD early image). Twice got away cause their foreign members are Japanese and Taiwanese (not china chinese). If they have SEA or Chinese members, i beg they wont be called NGG too

Even Twice since their westernisation and more mature concepts, i seldom see articles calling them the NGG. So it is all about the image that fit the koreans taste. The title has no bearing honestly.

blackpink doesn't even promote in korea to the extent snsd did and still does. I am not saying if they did they would have bigger legacy than them in korea but its kinda unfair to compare when they never did to begin with. I think even twice didn't promote in sk at their peak to the extent snsd did at their peak, like they were literally everywhere. Btw if you are comparing recent cbs, then pv is doing better though without a single promo in korea yet
