even GG is underperforming

  • This isn’t them underperforming - it’s perfectly on the level of what was expected of them now unless you’re a delulu stan lol. It’s undeniable that the public has moved on to newer ggs to fawn over and unless you put your head in the sand it’s easy to see as day older ggs that still persist like snsd or apink or brown eyed girls just won’t garner the same anticipation as before anymore outside their (also dwindling) fandoms.

  • the song is trash, i doubt it

Until you realize they had a whole TV show this year that pulled good ratings so you would think their initial charting would be a bit better. But SM booked the entire variety circuit for them so it is almost inevitable that the song would at least be a top 10 hit.

  • Still outdid every twice song after fancy

Didn't I see Knetz talking about how their variety show had like a 0% percent ratings and somehow it was even getting even lower?

Only people who lived in the past dreamed of a snsd comeback that would lead the chart. at least only red velver level stayed in top 3 and then came out, or even like itzy or pop nayeon who because of promotion got top 3. but don't dream it will be top 1. snsd have never been digimon like sistar and bigbang, even when comeback with 2ne1 , snsd lost digitally

SNSD did chart very well, only their charting became less consistent in their latter years and it wasn't as good as Sistar used to be.

The comeback overlap with 2NE1, Crush and Mr Mr, was a mess where SM's entire promotion was the worst: first they messed up the source tape for the MV meaning that large parts of it had to be overdone to get enough material, and then the release date kept being pushed bc they weren't finished yet - only to have Apple release the song by accident (or on purpose?) after which SM HAD to rush out the release. In short, the messiest SNSD release.

But people forget that the year before that, SNSD had a huge hit with I Got A Boy and it was 2NE1 who weren't doing that great either with Falling In Love and Do You Love Me? => which was the whole reason that YG cut short the planned 4-songs-release-chain because he felt 2NE1's mid comebacks were damaging the YG brand image and put everything into it to make Crush a succes.

  • That doesn't change the fact snsd as twice this era. Yes 2ne1 own flop song but Keep chart at top 10 at gaon, with is not flop. Send most love Korea taste but at matrix snsd not diimon like how Big Bang and sister digimon. Even in their career snsd never had a Pak or even a cak

Singkatnya, rilis SNSD paling berantakan.

  • song sounds like david guetta's afterbirth tbh

You're probably using google translate which makes your post hard to figure out.

But to answer the pak/rak thing: the reason they didn't was that SM groups got cockblocked by 1/some of the old streaming platforms they got a feud with, resulting in the fact they weren't able to.

SNSD did have their songs top the annual music charts and have long streaks of weeks occupying the #1 spot, that says enough about song popularity.

  • doing a lot variety show really helps uhh
