Many fans listen to their CDs that is why spotify, youtube, apple, etc streams are low

  • Get over it people. Stop dragging million selling acts for their low streams.

  • only audiophiles who spend lots of money on hi-end audio equipment listen to CDs for fidelity. they are a very tiny minority

no one else listens to CDs because of convenience

    you're just fooling yourself

  • No one in my country below the age of 60 uses CDs. Kpop or otherwise. Maybe it's still a thing in other places but I can promise you no one here listens to their Kpop CDs.

  • fans of the high streams artists listen to cds too you know? but their streams are still high.. wonder why :/

  • Lol I don't think I have a device capable of playing CD's in my house anymore..

    Oh maybe my PS5.

  • No one listens to CDs anymore. Kpop fans and their endless justifications.

  • Don't see this often, ifans being honest about the huge gap between massive album sales and weak digitals of most boy groups. Impressive honesty :finger-heart:

SM stans copium is the best

? More like bg stans copium, since bgs have - by far - the biggest gap between their multimillion album sales and their mid streams and (real) views that are nowhere even close to what BTS and BP have in organic digitals.

  • According to google the two biggest music streaming sites are Spotify with 36% of worldwide streaming markets and Apple Music with 15%. (this is just a super quick google.) so that leaves 49% of the market.

If spotify is the biggest with 36% that would mean even if the rest of the 49% was split between other markets there would still be a large portion who don't stream music.

(I haven't included youtube as it's not solely a music site and the stats I found were for the American market not worldwide or from several years ago.)

So yeah, the idea that people listen to CDs over streaming isn't as farfetched as people try to make it seem.

  • because people stream illegally too lol

  • Even in my home country which is considered a third-world country we don't listen to CDs anymore. Most people here have smartphones and they just download music straight to their phones illegally from the internet.

  • That's not what that statistic means. Spotify has about 30% of the streaming market, not the music market. They're only looking at the amount of streaming. It doesn't have anything to do with the amount of people who stream vs don't stream.

Spotify has about a third, apple has 15%, and the rest is made up of Amazon, youtube music, ten tencent, and other streaming services.

  • Vinyl & CD Sales Both Increased In 2021, Streaming Remains Insanely Popular
And digital downloads aren't doing so hot.
