    You could honestly say this about a lot of "it girls" and "it boys" from past or present. All of them have just good looks and people go crazy for them. That's what it is. You don't need no talent or good dramas or songs.

    V, Kai, Cha Eunwoo and Jaehyun, just to make a few who constantly trend in SK and globally on Twt and have constant stories and posts outside of Kpop about them for sometimes just breathing, honestly, and going viral or semi-viral with sounds or vids. You can see that with the earned media value they get from brands for their activities in the fashion industry news.


    Certainly there’s a chicken or the egg here thing. Fandoms organize and actively boost their fave’s activities on social, which then gets the attention of other muggles, hooked by this good looking or funny or whatever dude.


    When Felix went viral for his cute on-trend TikTok or Johnny in his Met Gala look, fans lifted them, hooked the attention and then people ran with it. (I don’t think either of those two are “it boys” but it proves the point that a fandom can boost even a less popular idol like Johnny into the mainstream’s attention and then the mainstream runs with it.)

    Pretty much what IT boy/girl is most often about, looks, image, the rest usually dont matter even if they have some talents, it gets overshadowed.


    IU would be an example of the other way around, she is still way more popular and influential in korea than any so called IT person thrown around in the last decade, but people seldom mention her as a IT girl even tho she has more/bigger cf deals than anyone else etc. Her image is first and foremost as an singer/artist.

    Isnt that often the case tho, same could be said for Suzy,...they get so big that their members simply fall behind in their shadow.

    After seeing some of the posts here I think my views are different now but I still don't consider any 4th gen BG member it boy, they're nugus.
