I think contract negotiations allowed for this and Hoshi always seemed like one of the members most interested in solo activities but wasn't allowed to. It's unfortunate he (and the other members) haven't been able to do a lot of solo stuff for so long because he gets a lot of attention quick now. I think it would have been good for marketing and individual success to allow this stuff a longer time ago.

I'm happy they have more freedom now but I don't think it was too bad before. 7 years together focusing on the group and now, after renewing, they can start to branch out. It's pretty perfect imo.
