I've discussed this with friends and they agree - so I'd like to hear other thoughts.
Re: the title, people will stan any small group (whether or not they're outstanding) because they like to be the first to stan. They want to say "here since debut", they want to seem like the truest of fans... and it's kinda ruining Kpop IMO...
You have all these "overhyped" groups getting so much attention because people will praise them for something that isn't THAT great. I'm not comparing groups - rather comparing the generations.
In 3rd gen, we saw the talented ones succeed and stand out. Whereas in 4th gen, we see a BUNCH of smaller groups instead of specific standouts (or maybe it's too early). I just think with stan culture + kpop, it doesn't really show who is great...
