Without the scandal, could Taeyong have become an it boy?

    He is the face of NCT, possibly the best rapper from SM to date. Without the scandal stopping him, could he have become an it boy in Korea?

    I don't think so, even though sm was really aiming for it

    No such thing as an idol it boy unless they act in dramas


    Mark is the best rapper in SM

    Yes, he got the charisma and really strong stage presence for it.


    But nah, don't think so under SM, they just don't know how to promote their idols well enough for it, those times that SM idols happen to become it boys/girls or the most popular, it was more luck or their personal qualities than wisdom from SM's side.


    If Taeyong had been under YG, he might have. YG might have many flaws, but whenever they do shape up to get hype for some of their artists, they really really do a good job of it.

    If he and Mark are the best rappers in sm, damn SM really have low standards

    She probably listens to en-flopen. With all the autotune and vocal processing she prob doesnt know what good vocals sound like anymore

    It just not their focus. All companies have their own, YG focuses on rap while SM on vocals, they dont really look for rappers they just turn singers into rappers to fill the position.

    when has a scandal every prevented someone from becoming an it celebrity? Isn't that the true measure of an it boy? Overcoming your scandal and coming out twice as popular afterwards?
